Writers Helping Writers tonight! San Mateo Public Library 6:30pm June 13

Interested in learning about finding a publisher for that book you’ve labored over for so long? Tim Flood, of the San Francisco Peninsula branch of the California Writers Club, will present “Finding a Publisher: A Dating Game — and More.” Tim will discuss the game of publishing, what an author has to prepare for mentally, and how to be organized in what may be a complex search. His methodology helped him identify publishers relevant to his work; eliminate scams; screen out irrelevant publishers; and track submissions and responses. Being organized is indispensable to the arduous, complex, and potentially emotional task of finding a publisher.

After a career in information systems management at Stanford, as well as consulting, blogging, and speaking on technology in higher education, Tim hitched a ride on his dream to begin writing his first novel, The Flower of Canaan, in 2015. Inspired by the early story of his mother, her struggles with rape and religious prejudice, and her heroic feat to save herself and her son, his novel is the first in a planned series of novels in an ancient setting and time destined to shape Western values and beliefs. His novel is being prepared for publication in 2025.
