Young young?

I’m watching Star Wars II. And I finally know what bugs me about the word “younglings. Adding the “ling” suffix to a noun makes it a young version of that noun.

Therefore, youngling = young young person.

I believe I remember a Harlan Ellison essay, where some TV producers rewrote his script to call a star a “solar star.” Ouch.

I need to write some writing.
